Since 2016, VERMEER VENTURES has been supporting promising start-ups, established companies, and real estate projects. The investment firm, headquartered in Kiel, was founded by Carl Prien, Kevin Oldenburg, and Jan Lüddeke, and is now active in real estate marketing and development, IT services, and healthcare and nursing. The trained shipping merchant grew up in Kiel and joined the family-owned traditional company Photo Prien with over 100 years of history in 1997. Six years later, he founded studioline, now the largest photo studio chain in Germany with 90 branches. Since selling the majority of his shares, he has focused on building VERMEER VENTURES. Carl Prien now resides in Hamburg and Sylt.
After completing an apprenticeship as a shipping merchant and studying business law, the native of Baden-Baden worked for five years in investment banking at Bankhaus Lampe. He then worked for EnBW and Nidera B.V. in energy wholesale before finally founding Commerg in 2010, now the largest brokerage platform for green energy certificates in Europe. Since 2019, Jan Lüddeke has been responsible for the investments of VERMEER VENTURES. He currently resides in Lucerne.
The native of Kiel and trained wholesale and foreign trade merchant began his career in sales at a car manufacturer and later worked as a department head for investment financing at a financial institution in Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg. In 2006, he became the managing director and co-shareholder of the nationwide branch business of the studioline Group. Since 2017, he has been responsible for the real estate development of Commercial Real Estate at VERMEER VENTURES. Kevin Oldenburg resides in Schleswig-Holstein.
